Alexander Jackson was born on March 14, 1992 in Baton Rouge, LA to Eddie Morris and Beverly Jackson. Throughout his early years, he had to deal with constant moving and mental distress, due to his father losing a valiant fight to esophageal cancer, when he was only five. As a result, he became what was generally known as a "problem child." His future looked bleak for many of those around him. It was the summer before the fourth grade, when he was offered an opportunity to live with his great aunt and as a result, the opportunity to change his life for the better. Throughout his earlier years, he was always told he had the potential to do great but never really cared to find it; however, this new life and a wanting to make a mother that he missed proud changed things. Ever since, he has strived to do his absolute best and has attended the number one middle school and high school in Texas, according to Children at Risk, a nonprofit group ranking nearly 5,900 schools statewide. He attended William B. Travis from fifth to eighth grade then moved to the Science and Engineering Magnet at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center where he graduated this year.
Alexander tries to give back as many have done for him and is an active member of the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club, where he takes part in community service, job shadows, and participates in many leadership programs in an attempt to give back and prepare for the future. Through the Club he has received many once in a life time opportunities and was even awarded the privilege to participate in the National Keystone Conference in Pittsburg, PA, where he helped represent the entire Dallas area. As a result of all of these forces working so hard to help him through his life, Alexander is graduated June 1, 2010 on the Distinguished Program and is attending the University of North Carolina in the fall. He plans to major in Business Management, in hopes of one day becoming the CEO of a very successful company.
